‘twas in the late night of august
That I found myself fidgeting
I slept in the midnight
But some while before the dawn I rose
Stepped quietly beside your bed
You’re asleep..
The pillow hard against your breast
The blanket warmth my beloved
I felt your peacefulness
The holiness ‘bout you in your silence
I walked toward the window and peeped
Out into the tranquil sky…
And turned to you
I watched you
